Is Thumbtack Worthwhile for Small Businesses

If you are a small business owner like I am, you may have run into thumbtack.com.  Out of the hundreds of local listing sites I use, thumbtack.com connects me with more customers than any other site except google.com/google maps.  Thumbtack works by letting consumers request quotes from service providers in their area. If they are requesting the kind of services your company provides, you will have the option to send the customer a quote.  Quotes cost about $3, so you have to make your company stand out if you want to win the job. Over time, you can collect reviews from your customers on Thumbtack to make your quote even more appealing.

A second benefit of thumbtack is that your business listing may show up in Google search results for certain keywords. Thumbtack gives you a page to describe your business, upload pictures, list licences you may have, and answer common questions that consumers ask you. The more content you put up, the better Thumbtack considers your profile to be, and it may give a small boost to your SEO as well.
